Our Mission
There is a small sign on the inside of the sailing office door that reads, “Build Little Champions.”
It reminds us that each time we step out to coach the children in our care, we are about more than sailing.
Lake Forest Sailing believes the skills required to achieve mastery of a sailing boat extend well beyond the tiller. We hold high expectations for our sailors. We ask them to be kind, courteous, mindful of teammates, encouraging of others, communicative, organized, physically fit, respectful, tidy, disciplined, humble in victory, and resilient in defeat.
It is perhaps these qualities — as much as technical skill — that have contributed to the considerable success of the Lake Forest High School Sailing Team in regional and national regattas.
We are proud to offer sailing instruction for all ages and skill levels and to be nationally recognized and sanctioned as an accredited training center by US Sailing.
